If you’re not using my super successful testimonial formula, you need to start today!
First and foremost, when you ask your home sellers for testimonials, don’t just ask for the thank you, ask for it in the way you want it … in a way that S E L L S for you! Here’s my testimonial formula that gets other brides on board (of course model it and tweak it to suit your company):
Email Subject: Can I feature YOU and YOUR wedding?
I hope you’re doing great since your home sale! It was such a pleasure helping you prepare your house to sell and I enjoyed the opportunity to work with you. We’d love to help more home sellers just like you, and your testimonial will help them know that we truly deliver what we promise. This would be such a huge help for me as well as so many home sellers who are in need of our services (just like you were).
Will you take a few minutes to write a paragraph, based on the VALUE you got from working with me and my team? (It should take you no more than 5 minutes.) If you want help with structure, you can write something like this:
Before hiring [insert your name or company name] to help us prepare our home to sell, I was…
From her services, I received… And as a result, this is what happened (examples: saved money, saved time, my family and friends were able to relax and enjoy the day as guests, etc…)
My advice for those thinking of hiring [insert your name or company name] and her team…”
Feel free to inject your personality into it. Be yourself! I want people to get INSPIRED when they read your paragraph! And, please do send us a picture of you in your favorite makeover space or proudly holding a SOLD sign! : )
Do you mind sending this to me by Friday? I’d love to get your testimonial up on our website ASAP for other home sellers to see. No need for it to be perfect (I am happy to tweak it and send it to you for review if you prefer), but I just need the main points.

Now … that was the first step. To REALLY get those testimonials working for you, I want you to do a few things. (Please see a past blog post on how to properly post your testimonials to your site here: http://brideattraction.com/blog/?p=87)
You really want to repurpose the testimonial itself for a few reasons. Brides raving about how amazing you were and how you saved the day s.ells other home sellers on your services like nothing else. Plus, having them all on your website, one after another after another shows that you are credible. And, if you can get this all over the web, your trustworthiness just increased phenomenally!! All of these factors will increase your close ratio … and that means more love in the bank. : )
Take each testimonial and feature it in your e-zine and in your blog. Add a section to your e-zine (or e-newsletter) featuring another happy home seller (or another realtor). Insert the testimonial using the formula above, give the testimonial a title, and include a picture. While you’re using the powerful e-mail marketing tool, you’re also making the most of it in terms of really showing what you can offer brides. Then take the same testimonial and feature it that week on your blog. You’re repurposing it here…see how easy this is?
Now take the exact same testimonials and make videos with them! Again, repurpose the same thing, while really enjoying the power and results you get from using 3-D marketing. If you can make a video out of still pictures, text testimonials and put it to (royalty-free) music, you’re golden. Upload these videos on your you tube channel, re-post in your blog, and also post on your social media pages.
Now THIS is really getting those testimonials working for you! Can you say it with me now? It’s SO easy!!! In everything that works with marketing, K.I.S.S. – keep it super simple.
